The pa305sprint series is an organizational entity of racers established and committed to fun fair and safe racing. The series was established in1998 by a core group of racers from Hesston and Path Valley Speedways who chose to adopt the Racesaver® sprint racing standards established by French Grimes and the Virginia Sprint Series.
The Racesaver® standard was adopted with the intention of providing affordable racing for participants without high cost of ownership or maintenance. Accordingly, the series is committed to a purse structure which allows for all teams to be reimbursed fairly for competition while not paying significantly more to any position. An affordable purse also ensures that the series will remain a viable & affordable option for the speedways that host the series on a regular basis.
The PA305 Sprint series also believes the Racesaver® series represents “recreational racing” which commands respect for each competitor and their equipment. The series will not tolerate any aggressive driving. The willingness to give racing room is a defining aspect of pa 305 sprint series races. The combination of fair rules and affordable racing gives every team an equal opportunity to win on any given night. History has proven that racers that concentrate on chassis setup and smooth driving will win races. Recreational racing also means that teams should compete as much as they want without expectation to attend. Drivers aren’t expected to miss family events etc. to race. There are no provisions to handicap 305 racers that only attend periodically.
The series is NOT a club; racing with the series is by invitation Teams that race only with our series and are in good standing will be given preference for their support. Only teams that agree with this series objective and rules should plan to purchase cars or motors. New teams are required to receive a copy of the complete rules page from a competition committee member and return a signed copy before purchasing any equipment.
Teams that race at other tracks in other divisions will be considered part time and should contact the series prior to attending. Teams that race in other Racesaver regional series may also race with us if invited but should arrange this with their regional director to be sure your region is in good standing with ours.
The Organization is managed by a competition committee comprised of founding members and volunteers that have given considerable time to help manage the series. The competition committee was originally established and approved by Hesston and Path Valley Speedways when the series started. Hesston and Path Valley continue to be the home tracks for the series and this is not expected to change.
Hesston and Path Valley establish a regular schedule for the series and permit a number of special events away from these home tracks to give teams some variety and the ability to travel. The series expect to continue having special races but new teams need to understand there is no desire to grow the series outside the region. Special races are arranged and approved by the Series Director only. Occasionally teams will be “polled” to measure interest in special dates but the final decision must be made by the committee.
Speedways that schedule races with the series have agreed to host the series with the understanding that they will be handicapping and paying competitors. The competition committee is responsible for enforcing the rules listed here and speedways have agreed to stand by any disqualifications and/or suspensions/penalties the competition committee assesses.
Competitors must comply with any rules specifically implied by the speedways such as age limits or conduct on or off the track and specific safety requirements. Please contact the individual speedway for clarification of these issues. If you are unsure who to contact with a specific question see a member of the committee.
Finally, competitors who join the series should understand that it is not foreseen that these rules or objectives will be changed significantly from year to year. Change usually means extra costs to competitors. The only changes in the rules will be to clarify existing rules or address new technologies. |
